The Orchid Project — A Healthy Marriage Preservation Initiative
Prioritize your marriage. Protect your bond. Pour into your forever.
Overview
The Orchid Project is an 11‑month, cohort‑based marriage preservation initiative designed to strengthen marital bonds, deepen emotional intelligence, and build lifelong support networks among married and engaged couples. Grounded in research‐based practices, principles of commitment and mutual submission, The Orchid Project offers curated monthly events with marriage focused skill building, peer mentorship, and a transformative retreat to acknowledge and celebrate the commitment and investment in your marriage—all aligned with Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood priorities to promote stable, healthy marriages and successful families.
Initiative Priorities:
- Strengthening Marriage Skills: By focusing each month on core competencies—communication, conflict resolution, intimacy, financial alignment, and more—The Orchid Project equips couples with tools shown to reduce divorce risk and enhance relationship satisfaction.
- Responsible Fatherhood & Shared Partnership: Every couple learns to engage fathers as equal partners in parenting and home leadership. Our “Roles & Responsibilities” month explicitly addresses healthy co‑parenting and biblical headship/submission in culturally relevant terms.
- Evidence‑Based & Measurable Outcomes: We employ validated curricula (e.g., Gottman Institute, Brene Brown, SYMBiS, etc.) and measure impact through three standardized couple interviews (entry, 6‑month midpoint, exit), weekly check‑ins, and participant satisfaction surveys—meeting rigorous evaluation standards.
Sustainability & Peer Leadership: As couples graduate, they transition into peer‐mentors for subsequent cohorts and may join program staff—creating a self‑perpetuating leadership pipeline that ensures long‑term viability and local capacity building.
